Rupee declines by 24 paise against dollar

Rupee was weighed by oil payments, dollar demand and weak trend seen in domestic equity market. Dollar gained strength against euro and other major currencies.
On Friday, the Indian currency lost 29 paise to close at three-week low of 49.50 against the dollar on continuous dollar demand from importers.
The Indian rupee opened at 49.71 per dollar versus 49.50 on Friday. At 11.30 pm IST, the rupee was seen trading at 49.75 lower by Rs 0.24.
Meanwhile, The benchmark Sensex slipped by 195 points . The 50-share NSE Nifty slipped by 57 points.
