BBMP Commissioner M K Shankarlinge Gowda has asked the authorities to create facilities for e-payment for the year 2012-13, which will start from April 1, 2012. The same can be accessed by the public to pay through their credit and debit card.

The good news is that there will be no transaction charges for card users making online payment. The payment gateway has been facilitated by IDBI Bank.

The BBMP had planned to achieve the target of Rs 1,500 crore property tax by March 31, but so far it had collected Rs. 1,250 crore and BBMP Commissioner is keen on achieving the target.

Mr. Gowda also warned to take legal actions against property owners whose cheques bounced.
