
At 09.30 am IST, the 30-share BSE Sensex was trading at 17292.17, down 24.01 or 0.14% and NSE Nifty was trading at 5259.55 down 15.30 or 0.29%.
In Asia, the major markets were trading in the negative after concerns over China's slowdown. The Nikkei 225, Hang Seng and Shanghai indices were all trading in the red.
Shares which rallied in morning trade were TCS which gained 1.33%. Mahindra Satyam and Tech Mahindra were trading up on news of of the merger meeting being held today.
On the losing side, companies that failed to attract investors were, BHEL which was trading lower by 0.65%, despite of bagging an order for Rs 630 cr to build 300 MW power plant at Vizag. Hindustan Construction was also down on news of the company loans turning into NPA for banks.
