At 09.30 am IST, the 30-share BSE Sensex was trading at 17375.01 lower 17.38 points or 0.10%and NSE Nifty was trading at 5297.20 down 2.80 points or 0.05%.

Asian markets were also seen mixed as investors turned cautious ahead of the Spanish government bond auction which was due today. The Nikkei 225 was down by 0.73% at 9,595, while the Hang Seng was up by 0.32% at 20,844. The Shanghai composite was down 0.14% at 2,377 points.

Results are awaited from ACC and Ambuja Cements which are to report quarterly results today. Among the stocks that gained in early trade today were Tata Power, Sun Pharma, Infosys and Maruti Suzuki.

While on the losing side, the stocks failed to lure investors were Bhel, Reliance Infra, Sesa Goa and Larsen and Toubro.
