India crude oil basket drops on rupee appreciation

The international crude oil price for Indian basket decreased to US$ 108.03/barrel on 26.9.2012. The price was higher than US$ 109.19 bbl on 25.09.2012, the last trading day.

In rupee terms also, the crude oil price decreased to Rs 5788.25 per bbl on 26.09.2012 from Rs 5844.94 per bbl on 25.09.2012.

The rupee-dollar exchange rate on 26.09.2012 was at Rs 53.58 /US$ against Rs 53.53/US$ on 25.09.2012.

Brent crude futures on MCX was seen trading at Rs 5935, marginally lower by 0.02%. International brent crude was seen at $ 112, higher by 0.19% at 11.30 am IST.

The rupee on Friday appreciated by 36 paise to trade at 5-month high at Rs 52.66, closed at 52.85 against dollar.
