Markets trading lower; TCS gains 2%

Markets opened the day marginally lower tracking weak Asian cues, with the Sensex trading down 46 points, while the Nifty was seen trading at 5665 points, down 19 points at 9.40 am IST.

The Asian shares were affected after the weak earning reports from leading US companies, a sharp dip in Japan's export weighed on the sentiment.

Shares of the Kingfisher was trading lower by 4.80% as the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) suspended the airlines operating permit.

Shares of the TCS company gained 2.32% on strong Q2 numbers. The company has reported a net profit of Rs.3,434 crore for the second quarter of 2012-13, a 49.4 per cent growth over the year-ago figure

The stocks of HDFC, Larsen and Cairn India will be focused as they will report their quarterly earnings today.

Among the stocks that gained today in the morning trade were the TCS, Cairn India, Cipla and HUL.

While on the losing side, the stocks that failed to lure investors in the morning trade were Ambuja Cements, Tata Motors, ITC and Sun Pharma.
