
In today's trade, the Sensex had touched a high of 19,903 and a low of 19,736. The Nifty closed the day lower by 11 points, while the Sensex ended the day lower by 30 points.
Among the sectoral indices, PSU, Health Care, Power, Oil & Gas, Metal, IT and Consumer Durables were the major losers.
PSU banking shares that lost ground in trade today were Bank of Baroda, SBI, Andra Bank and Bank of India.
Stocks that lost heavy grounds in today's trade were Bank of Baroda, IDFC, JP Associates, Ranbaxy and Cipla.
The top gainers in today's trade Tata Motors, HDFC Bank ,Ultra Cement, Asian Paints and HDFC.
Shares of the Indian bank dropped 3.89% after the bank reported drop in its net profit to Rs 331 crore against Rs 526 crore (YoY).
Meanwhile, markets in Asia ended the day higher led by strong gains in the Japanese Nikkei.
Europe was trading with losses, including the UK's FTSE, the German DAX and the French CAC.
