Indian markets closed for Ram Navami

Indian stocks and forex markets will remain closed today on account of Ram Navami. Meanwhile, most of Asia was trading with strong gains led by the Taiwan Weighted which was up 1.65 per cent. Other gainers in trade from Asia was the Shanghai Composite, Hong Kong's Hang Sang and the Japanese Nikkei.

Indian markets had a stellar session on Thursday as foreign funds pumped in money. The Sensex closed the day 1.52 per cent led by strong gains in the banking sector.
