Sensex and Nifty had hit their 31-month high in the morning. While, selling pressure in few banking stocks and Pharma stocks and healthcare capped the gain.

The Sensex ended the day lower by 62 points and the Nifty lost 30 points in trade. The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 20,443.62 and intraday low of 20,186

Among the top losers from Nifty were the pharma stocks which ended the day lower following selling pressure. Pharma stocks that lost ground in trade were Ranbaxy and Lupin. Private sector banks that lost ground in trade were ICICI Bank, Yes Bank and HDFC Bank.

Stocks that gained today were Maruti, Mahindra and Mahindra, Bajaj Auto, Coal India and HCL Tech.

Among the sectoral indices, most of them were trading in the red. Healthcare, Consumer Durables, Bankex were badly hit sectors.
