Global crude oil price of Indian basket has moved up to $108.54/bbl on August 22, surging past the Rs 7100 per barrel mark in rupee terms.

The international crude oil price of Indian Basket as computed by Petroleum Planning and Analysis
has risen to $ 108.54/per barrel (bbl) on 22.08.2013. This was higher than the price of $107.97/bbl which prevailed on the previous trading day of 21.08.2013.

In rupee terms, the crude oil price increased sharply to Rs 7100.69 per bbl on 22.08.2013 as compared to Rs 6851.78 /bbl on 21.8.2013.

This was due to rupee price increase in dollar terms with rupee depreciation adding to the price rise.
