Indian stock, forex and debt markets are closed today on account of Ganesh Chaturthi. Most of the Asian markets are trading higher in weaker than expected jobs data, which raises the prospects of the US not tapering off its bond buying programme.

The Chinese Shanghai Composite rallied almost 2 per cent, while the Japanese Nikkei was also up 2 per cent and the Singapore's Strait Times was up 1.29 per cent.

Meanwhile, the Singapore SGX nifty was up 50 points.
