Spicejet announces Rs. 1 base fare with limited seats

With the onset of the new financial year, Spicejet again comes up with a discount offer that is sure to be loved by air travellers. As part of the discount offer that can be availed of from today until April 3, 2014, the travellers will be able to book tickets for direct domestic flights between July 1, 2014 and March 28, 2015 at a base fare of just Rs. 1. The fare is exclusive of applicable taxes and other fees.

The launch of the discount offer is on the back of the carrier's new network which the company seeks to introduce via the offering. So, the offer is applicable only for flights on the company's new network. Also, with the discount offer, the cash-strapped carrier is expected to mop up some cash, and more so in such a scenario, more and more customers will opt for air travel over rail transport.

The limited seats under the scheme are available on a first-come-first-serve basis and can be availed through either the company's website www.spicejet.com or via travel agents and travel portals.

Other than the Rs. 1 base fare, company has also announced discounts on other flights depending on the travel date and the flight. Soon, after the announcement of the hefty discount on air fare, website of the company was down due to heavy traffic.
