Rupee opens lower at 60.23 to the dollar

The rupee opened the day lower at 60.23 to the dollar, as against its previous close of 60.13. The currency has been trading in a range and had recovered after falling last week on concerns over rising crude prices, due to the conflict in Iraq.
The rupee had closed at 60.13 to the dollar on Tuesday.

The currency is expected to trade in a range today in the absence of any major cues. However, the currency may get volatile as we draw closer to the Union Budget.

The rupee has been among the best performing Asian currencies since the start of the year on the back of a stable government and falling current account deficit. Check rupee rates here
