Sensex, Nifty end lower; software stocks up on weaker rupee
The Sensex and the Nifty ended the day flat after trading in a range for most of the day as investors continued to await the RBI's Monetary Policy due on Tuesday.

The Sensex ended the day lower by 29 points, while the Nifty closed the day lower by 9 points. Leading the set of gainers from the Nifty were software stocks like TCS and Infosys which rallied following weakness in the rupee.

PSU majors like Bhel and Gail also found buying interest at lower levels. However, banking stocks once again came in for some severe selling pressure with stocks like Kotak Mahindra, ICICI Bank and Bank of India among the losers in trade.

Mid cap stocks saw buying interest with Divis Labs, Bharat Forge and Aurobindo Pharma among the gainers.

HUL ended the day marginally lower after a downgrade from a leading brokerage. Power Grid and Sun Pharma were the other winners from the space.
