Markets remained directionless as they were trading between the positive territory and negative territory in the morning trades as gains in Auto and IT stocks cap losses in metal and banking shares. The 30-share benchmark index, Sensex was down by 15 points while, the 50-share Nifty index also pared early morning gains and was trading around its crucial psychological level of 7950, weighed down by losses in banks, FMCG, realty and metal stocks. The markets were witness profit booking ahead of holidays from October 2 through October 6.

At 11 AM BSE SENSEX was at 26616.14 down by 14.37 points or by 0.05 per cent, while NSE Nifty was at 7964.9 up by 0.1 points or by 0 per cent.

The BSE MIDCAP was at 9548 up by 17.65 points or by 0.19 per cent, while the BSE SMLCAP was at 10704.06 up by 22.6 points or by 0.21 per cent.

The BSE Sensex touched an intraday high of 26683.7 and an intraday low of 26580.83, while the NSE Nifty touched an intraday high of 7977.5 and an intraday low of 7952.2.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Wipro Ltd. (Rs. 613.00,+2.79%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 2894.00,+1.83%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2782.00,+1.60%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 3785.30,+1.00%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 3248.70,+0.65%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 448.20,-3.93%), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 440.20,-1.93%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 153.80,-1.91%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 403.75,-1.31%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 366.50,-1.15%), among others.
