Rupee opens weak at 61.46 to the dollar

The rupee opened marginally weak at 61.46 to the dollar on weakish global cues, after equity markets across the globe dropped following poor data from Europe.

The rupee had closed at 61.41 against the dollar on Tuesday.

Dealers say the rupee would continue to remain range bound in the absence of any major cues. The rupee has been hovering in the 60-61 levels for the last several months since Prime Minister Narendra Modi took charge as the Prime Minister in May.

It's likely that the rupee would continue to move in a range in the absence of any major cues.
