Stock markets began the week on a bullish note once again with the Sensex and the Nifty gaining ground in trade once again on strong global cues.
The Sensex ended the day with gains of 55 points, while the Nifty was up 12 points in Trade. Heavyweight, ITC was the leading gainer, while another FMCG, Hindustan Unilever joined the stock higher.

Larsen continued to see some selling pressure after its results lagged estimates. Select mid cap stocks also saw some selling pressure with Arvind, Havells and NHPC among the losers.
PSU banking stocks continued to see buying interest despite worries over non performing assets. Oriental Bank, Punjab National Bank and State Bank of India saw buying interest.
Meanwhile, Asian markets were trading higher led by gains in the Shanghai Composite.
