Rupee Opens Steady at 61.49 to the Dollar

The Rupee opened the day marginally strong by 2 paise at 61.49 to the dollar, as against its Wednesday's closing of 61.51 to the dollar.

The currency has been trading steady in the last few days and there has also been support from foreign funds who have been net buyers in the equity market for the last few days.

Falling crude prices has also been helping support the rupee. Dealers say the rupee will continue to trade in a range in the absence of any major cues.
