The Sensex and the Nifty ended the day at another record high after buying support was seen in metal stocks after China unexpectedly cut interest rates.
The Sensex ended at another record high of 28,499 points, while the Nifty ended the day higher by 52 points. Leading the set of gainers from the Nifty was Infosys which scaled another 52-week peak today. The stock closed higher by almost 3 per cent. Other stocks that gained ground was ICICI Bank which also scaled a new 52-week peak.

Shares in DLF gained ground for yet another day on short covering in the stock. The stock has now recovered since falling to the 100 level mark in Oct.
Mid cap stocks also had a good trading session with stocks like JSW Energy and Crompton Greaves among the top gainers.
Meanwhile, markets across saw a solid rally on the bank of rate cuts in China. European markets were trading flat in early trade, the German DAX and the french CAC were marginally up, while the French CAC was trading with losses.
