The Sensex ended the day higher by 7 points, while the Nifty gained 2 points in trade. Leading the set of losses from the indices were two-wheeler majors like Bajaj Auto and Hero Motor Corp. Other Nifty stocks that lost ground in trade were metal stocks like Sesa Sterlite, Tata Steel and Jindal Steel. However, the day's top loser was Reliance Industries which fell a huge 2 per cent as falling prices of crude continued to worry investors.

PSU banking stocks were the stars in trade with stocks like Andhra Bank, Syndicate Bank and Oriental Bank among the winners in trade.
Shares in IDBI Bank rallied after reports that the board had given nod to the bank to sell its stake in CARE.

IT stocks had a good day in trade with most of the stocks ending higher after the rupee hit a one week low. Infosys, Tech Mahindra and Wipro were among the gainers from the space.

Meanwhile, markets across Europe were trading with losses, while most of Asia ended lower on worries over Greece.
