The Rupee opened the day strong at 63.31 as against its Tuesday's close of 63.38.

Global equities remained quiet on the last day of the calendar year 2014. Dealers say the volumes were thin in trade on the last day of trade and there was could be some dollar demand that could emerge towards the end of the year.

Meanwhile, Indian stock markets are slated to open slightly higher on the back of strong global cues.
