The Rajya Sabha today passed the Mines and Minerals Development and Regulation (MMDR) Amendment Bill, 2015.

On Thursday there was tremendous ruckus in parliament as certain parties protested the Bill. There was too much confusion on the nitty gritties of the Bill, as mining is considered a state subject.

Stock markets did not react too much as action is awaited on the Land Acquisition Bill.
