NSE Files Rs 100 Crore Defamation Suit Against Moneylife

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday said that it has filed a defamation suit, against an organization and its representatives who published unsubstantiated and misleading reports against the exchange.

The exchange has sought withdrawal of those reports etc, as well as, has made a claim of Rs 100 cr (which can be revised upwards). These reports referred to algo trading mechanism etc, the NSE said in the press release.

As you know since inception, NSE has been maintaining a high degree of surveillance and integrity in its day to day operation, strictly adheres to the rules, regulations and guidelines issued by the regulators from time to time.

The matter is now pending in the hon'ble High Court of Mumbai, added further.
