The 30-share benchmark index ended trade at 26726.34, higher by 330.63 points, while the NSE Nifty was at 8206.60, up by 97.75 points. Asian peers closed the day on a positive note, while European counters were also trading ahead of conclusion of a two-day US Fed Meet.

Alstom T & D India

The company said that it has received orders from Power Grid; to improve power flow in Madhya Pradesh T&D Network".

The stock ended the day at Rs 369, lower by 0.26 per cent on BSE. It touched an intraday high at Rs 380 ans low of Rs 367 during the trade.

SBI subsidiaries

Shares of SBI's subsidiaries surged 19-20 percent while the parent the SBI gained 2 percent intraday on Thursday on the approval of merger plans.

Emami Infrastructure

Share of Emami Infrastructure rose 20 percent and hit upper circuit on Calcutta high court approval for merger of company's subsidiaries with itself.

The stock ended the day at Rs 50.10, higher by 20 per cent on BSE. It touched an intraday high at Rs 50.10 during the trade.

Aviation Stocks

Aviation stocks such as Jet Airways, SpiceJet, InterGlobe Aviation on Wednesday surged up to 5 per cent on reports that Union Cabinet has approved the proposed aviation policy and replaced 5/20 rule with 0/20 rule.

Godrej

Shares in Godrej rose after reports that Godrej Agrovet & Godrej Properties were set to develop 100 acres land in Bangalore.

The stock ended the day at Rs 333.55, higher by 2.41 per cent on BSE. It touched an intraday high at Rs 342 during the trade.
