Now You Can File Your IT Returns At Palace Grounds
The Income Tax Department is setting up around 80 special counters to help taxpayers to file their IT returns before the July 31 deadline, as per media reports.
The counters will be available from 9.30am to 5.30pm, there will also be arrangements in case to facilitate receipt of bulk returns, the statement said.
For taxpayers whose income is Rs 5 lakh and above have e-file their returns electronically, also those with income below Rs 5 lakh, if they are claiming a tax refund.
Intermediaries will be present at the Palace Grounds to help taxpayers e-file their returns.
The special facility will be equipped with ATMs, swipe machines and bank extension counters to facilitate instant payment of taxes, if necessary. Tax return preparers (TRPs) will be available to assist taxpayers and PAN Service (NSDL) counters will also be set up.
TOI said that there will be food courts and a medical support unit to meet emergencies will also be a part of the setup. To make the facility more user friendly, separate helpdesks for senior citizens and the differently-abled will also be formed.
The income tax department said that CPC, Bengaluru will set up a dedicated counter to receive the acknowledgement of the e-returns filed. The returns will not be received at HMT Bhavan on Ballari Road, further added.
