Shares in Gammon India surged 10 per cent, after the company was awarded a contract from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
The value of the contract was for slightly under Rs 870 cores.
Gammon, whose shares were once trading at very high levels, has been languishing for many years now. The company has been hit in the last few years, particularly in the infrastructure sector, where it once was a very prominent player.
The shares of the company were last trading at Rs 16.15, up 10.24 per cent over Wednesday's close.
