Govt Shifts Issue Date Of Sovereign Gold Bonds To Sep 30
The Government of India in consultation with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), has decided to shift issuance of Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs) from September 23 to September 30.
The tranche was open for subscription from September 01, 2016 to September 09, 2016.
The bonds were to be issued on September 23, 2016.
Large number of applications have been received by banks and post offices, the press release said.
To enable smooth uploading of applications into RBI's E- Kuber system, particularly by the post offices, it has since been decided to shift the issue date of the Sovereign Gold Bonds from 23rd September,2016 to 30th September, 2016, added further.
All other terms and conditions of the above Notification remain unchanged.
The amount realised through the 5th Tranche of Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) Scheme, is expected to cross Rs. 820 crore.
