TCS CEO and Managing Director, N Chandrasekaran has been appointed as the new Chairman of Tata Sons. He replaces interim Chairman, Ratan Tata, who was appointed after replacing Cyrus Mistry. N Chandrasekaran, has spent almost three decades at TCS, joined the company in 1987.

A known insider, who is close to Ratan Tata, has spearheaded in creating a cash rich and gigantic corporation like TCS. He also understands the Tata ethos of passion and compassion.

He was also nominated as the Chairman of Indian IT industry body NASSCOM in April 2012. Chandra as he is often referred to has received various awards from India and abroad.
