Under a discount scheme, the private carrier Jet Airways has slashed business class as well as economy class tickets for both national and international travel. The business class and economy class base fares have slashed by 20% and 30% respectively.

The offer is part of the carrier's Independence day celebration and starts from today and lasts for six day time marking the 70th Independence day of the country. In line with it Vistara under its Freedom to Fly sale offer for 48 hours only offered heavily discounted fares for as low as Rs. 799 for economy and Rs. 2099 for premium economy segment.

Another full service carrier, Vistara, announced earlier this week heavily discounted all-inclusive fares, starting as low as Rs 799 for economy class and Rs 2,099 for premium economy under its "48 hours only" Freedom to Fly sale offer.

The discount offer is available for one-way or round trip and for domestic flights tickets can be booked for travel from September 5 and in case of foreign trips the discount offer is valid from 15 September. Also, under the offer users can booking for available 44 domestic destinations and 20 global ones.
