    Vishal Sikka has resigned as managing director and chief executive officer of the company with immediate effect, India's second largest IT services major Infosys said in an official statement on Friday.

    U B Pravin Rao has been given the interim responsibility for both the posts. The company said that Sikka has now been appointed as executive vice-chairman. Vishal Sikka had just completed three years as the CEO of Infosys. Infosys To Hire 20,000 This Year

    Mr. Sikka's resignation comes after the tussle between Infosys founders and board.

    In the last few months, Infosys has seen some senior-level executives resigning include Anirban Dey (Global head and chief business officer of Edge products), Yusuf Bashir (MD, Infosys Innovation Fund) and Ritika Suri (executive vice-president), etc.

    Earlier, Mr. Narayana Murthy had written the letter to the board on governance issues, and huge salary package offered to CEO Vishal Sikka and COO Pravin Rao. 5 reasons why Infosys shares are a good buy at current levels
