After Aadhaar has become an essential document across financial services companies and for availing different government backed social benefits, other areas where the unique identity will now on be essential is on the e-commerce portals as well as for availing taxi and other services by cab aggregators.

In a leading dailiy report, now world's online seller that has fast made its much coveted space in the Indian markets, Amazon India has also asked customers to put in their Aadhaar details so as to better track customer orders in case they happen to be lost during the supply.

Am amazon spokesperson is quoted in the report saying, ""We ask customers to submit a government--certified ID. We understand Aadhaar is the most widely held. So it is our preferred one".

Cab aggregators have also hailed the idea and some of the not so popular rental services are demanding Aadhaar as a mandate for availing tax services from them.

Others in the line up to ask you to provide Aadhaar details are mobile wallet companies including Paytm and Cab aggregators' majors such as Uber and Ola.

The government is also looking at extending the deadline for linking Aadhaar with various bank accounts and phone number, the deadlines of which currently stand at December 31st and February 6th of next year.
