To remain competitive and retain large customer base, Reliance Jio amid huge tariff war on Friday introduced Rs. 199 and Rs. 299 plans for heavy data users who cannot afford large sums.

Under the plans, users will get 1.2GB and 2 GB data per day for a month for Rs. 199 and Rs. 299 respectively. The tariff plan remains valid for Reliance Jio Infocomm's Prime customer base who subscribed to the one-time annual membership by paying Rs. 99.
At the lowest price point of Rs. 149, the company offers 4GB data for a month with unlimited voice calls and SMS services. The other most popular plan of Jio at Rs. 399 offers 1 GB data on a daily basis and unlimited voice calls and sms services with 70 days validity.
Other rival players in the telecom industry including Airtel, Vodafone and Idea offer similar Rs. 199 plan with 1 GB data usage per day. Tariff plans close to the price band of Rs. 299 are also provided by these telecom companies.
