SBI Bank Cheque Books Turn Invalid From December 31

Bank account holders have a number of options to apply for cheque book from visiting a branch to get the same issued to applying it over the bank's app or getting it dispensed from the ATM.

As against the earlier proposed deadline of September 30, 2017, customers of the erstwhile banks which from the start of the FY 18 merged with State Bank of India need to apply for fresh cheque books bearing new IFSC code by December 31, 2017 as the previously issued cheque books will stand invalid.

So if you had an account with any of these merged banks you are required to get your bank cheque books replaced. The list of banks includes Bhartiya Mahila Bank, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur (SBBJ), State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Raipur, State Bank of Hyderabad and State Bank of Travancore.
