Ripple plunges down to $2.83 on Friday evening (05:50 pm UTC) after reaching a record high of $3.56 the same morning (08:50 am UTC). The price however recovered to $3.01 at the end of the day.

The fall in XRP's (Ripple's official currency) price is reportedly after Coinbase, the digital currency exchange headquartered in San Francisco, California denied rumors of it adding XRP to its listings. The exchange has announced that it would not be offering trading of any additional cryptocurrencies.

The percentage drop in price has been 25%. Meanwhile, Bitcoin saw a rise of 15% to $17,106.33 close to the end of the day (11:35 pm UTC) from $14,851.02 on Friday morning (07:21 am UTC).
