Inflow Via SIP Hit Another High In December Of Rs. 62.22 Billion

If the investor interest in the segment continues, industry expects to notch a SIP book of Rs. 70 billion monthly as against Rs. 30 billion collected two years back.

For the December month, mutual fund industry recorded the highest ever inflow through the systematic investment plans or SIPs at Rs. 62.22 billion. Of these 85% SIPs were made in the equity oriented schemes as investors were keen to make returns from the markets that performed well in the year gone by. With this, the combined inflow through the SIP route for the year 2017 stood at Rs. 595 billion.

The total number of SIP folios has also surged to 18.8 million. In the current FY the industry has added over 5 million new SIP folios. If the investor interest in the segment continues, industry expects to notch a SIP book of Rs. 70 billion monthly as against Rs. 30 billion collected two years back.
