The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) which issues Aadhar number (unique Identification Number) has clarified that there is no last date on applying for a new Aadhar or updating details on the same. In a Twitter post, the UIDAI said,
"THERE IS NO LAST DATE for Aadhaar enrolment/ update. Some rumors are being spread on social media regarding last date for Aadhaar enrolment/ update. The resulting chaos s is causing inconvenience to residents. DO NOT believe in any such thing."

It has also informed that citizens can now visit bank branches and post offices apart from Aadhar Kendra Centres to enroll or update their Aadhar. The list of these centres can be accessed online on their official website https://uidai.gov.in/ . Alternatively you can also call its helpline number '1947' for Aadhar related queries.

Note that you do not need to be a customer of the bank to avail the Aadhar services.
