Aadhaar Updation May Cost More: UIDAI To Impose 18% GST On Aadhaar Updation Fee
In a tweet recently, the authority said that for updating details on the Aadhaar card, cardholders will have to pay Rs. 25 plus 18% GST.
UIDAI, the Aadhaar card issuing authority has announced the levy of 18% GST on aadhaar updation fee. In the current regime, the unique ID body charges a fee of Rs. 25 for any update relating to demographic or biometric nature. Notably, update on aadhaar card is done for free for children.

In a tweet recently, the authority said that for updating details on the Aadhaar card, cardholders will have to pay Rs. 25 plus 18% GST. This means on GST cess implementation, subscribers will have to shell out Rs. 4.5 more.
In case Aadhaar subscribers confront a situation wherein the centre they reach out for aadhaar updation overcharges them, they can report such incidence by either writing to [email protected] or making a call on the toll-free number 1947.
Additionally, the authority on its twitter handle informed that parents can still apply for aadhaar card of their children even in a case when the child does not has any supporting evidence as a valid address proof.
For finding the aadhaar number on the website of UIDAI and taking out the print out in black and white ink the fee charged by such UIDAI centre is Rs. 10 while for the coloured copy the fee is Rs. 20.
