BSE Waives Transaction Charges For 30 Sensex Stocks
With effect from March 12, 2018, transaction charges in equity segment for 30 BSE stocks shall be waived off. The transaction charges range from Rs. 0.5- 1.5 for a trade transactions in securities under group A, B and other non-exclusive scrips.
In a statement, BSE said, "The move will help India in the growth story as BSE will now be the most preferred exchange for transacting in S&P BSE Sensex 30 stocks, which are considered to be growth engine for India".
Sensex index includes some 30 large cap companies from across the sectors.
The move is aimed at increasing retail participation of investors in financially sound large-cap companies.
The transaction charges depends on the volume and accordingly the BSE trading members have to pay their dues. For volume of upto 1,00,000, the transactions are Rs. 1.5 for every trade transaction and for the transaction volume in the range of 1,00,001 to 3,00,000, the charge is Rs. 1.25 for every trade.
Similarly for transaction count of between 3,00,001 - 5,00,000, the transaction cost comes to be Rs. 1 while for 5,00,001 - 20,00,00 transactions, a charge of Rs. 0.75 is charged. For monthly trades of over 20 lakh, the cost comes up to be RS. 0.5 per trade.
