LinkedIn has come up with a list of topmost companies in the year 2018 for Indian workforce. The globally leading professional network has enlisted some 25 companies that are most sought after by Indian professionals and its compilation has been done basis billions of activities by over 546 professionals on the online platform.
Here's the list of top 10 companies leading the chart in India in 2018:
1. Directi:
Directi comprises of a group of tech businesses owned, operated or invested in by Bhavin and/or Divyank Turakhia. The company established in the year 1998 is from the Internet space and has a global headcount of over 1500. In India, the company has presence in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru while internationally it is based out of Dubai, New York, Los Angeles, Ras Al Khaimah, Zurich.
2. Flipkart:
The company is yet another company from the e-commerce space with global headcount of 8,000. Started in the year 2007 as a start up company by Binny Bansal and Sachin Bansal, the company is based out of Bengaluru.
3. One 97 Communications (Paytm):
Started as a Mobile wallet company, the company now has ventured into the financial services space with a dedicated Payments bank and wealth management arm. Paytm is an acronym for "Payment Through Mobile". The company started in the year 2010 was founded by Vijay Shekhar Sharma. The global headcount of the company is 17,000.
4. Amazon:
Founded by Jeff Bezos is an online e-commerce major with a global headcount of 5,66,000. The company has headquarters in Seattle, US and was started in the year 1994 as a e-commerce and cloud computing solution provider.
5. Anheuser-Busch InBev:
The company is from the consumer goods space and has a global headcount of 200,000. The Belgian transnational beverage and brewing company has its global headquarters in Leuven, Belgium. The company became a much larger entity after acquiring SABMiller in the year 2016.
6. McKinsey & Company:
McKinsey & Company is a worldwide management consulting firm that conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis to evaluate management decisions across the public and private sectors. The company established in the year 1926 has a global headcount of 27,000.
7. Alphabet (Google):
IT & Services major is another most sought after company by job seekers. The compan headquartered in Mountain View, Californian was created through a corporate restructuring of Google on October 2, 2015. The company's global headcount is 80,110 employees.
8. KPMG India:
The management consulting firm referred as among the Big 4's in the Indian context specializes in risk management and other auditing services. The company's global workforce count is 197,263
9. Ernst and Young:
The accounting major iheadquarted in London, UK is also amongst the Big 4's accounting firms in India that include E&Y, KPMG, PWC and Deloitte. The company's global headcount is 250,000.
OYO:
The hospitality chain started by Ritesh Agarwal in the year 2011 is based out of Gurugram. The company's global headcount is 2700.
