The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) will now accept Provident Fund (PF) of over Rs 10 lakh via physical forms. The earlier decision to accept PF claims over Rs 10 lakh only online, has now been withdrawn.

In its circular dated 13th April 2018, EPFO said, "It is intimated that instructions issued on the captioned circular have been revisited in a meeting chaired by CPFC, in view of the problems faced by members/claimants (including International Workers) in filing online claims." The circular further said, "Considering the grievances raised by members, this stipulation will be kept in abeyance so that offline claims will also be accepted in all cases."
The offline withdrawal will also hold for EPS (Employees' Pension Scheme) withdrawals over Rs 5 lakhs.
However, these claims will still be sent online to employers for further verification to maintain security. The employer will then have to accept or reject the claim in 3 days.
In an earlier circular in February, the EPFO had made it mandatory for claims over Rs 10 lakhs to only be made online.
