Open Signal is a company which offers modern and proven way to measure mobile network performance, has recently come out with a report during February 2018, that shows the state of currently existing 4G speed across the globe.
The company collects around 2 billion individual measurements on day to day basis from around tens of millions of smartphone operators around the globe.
4G is the fourth generation of broadband cellular network technology. It succeeds 3G. A 4G system will provide the capabilities defined by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in the International Mobile Telecommunications-Advanced.
As per the report from OpenSource, here is the list of the countries with fastest internet speed in terms of average 4G speed.
India
The country stands at 11th position in the world in terms of 4G internet speed with 6.07 Mbps. Though the country has the largest 4G availability in the world and stands at 86%, the 4G speed in the country is lowest among the countries where OpenSignal surveyed.
The major telecom service providers in India include Airtel, Jio, Vodafone, Idea other than the government-owned BSNL.
Singapore
Singapore stands at 10th position in terms of 4G internet speed at 44.31 Mbps. The Singapore based market is served by StarHub, Mobile One, and SingTel.
Netherlands
The Netherlands secures the 9th position with 42.12 Mbps of 4G internet speed. KPN, Vodafone, Telfort, and T-Mobile are some of the telecom players in the Netherlands.
Norway
Norway with 41.20 Mbps stands at 8th position in terms of 4G internet speed. Some of the top telecom players include Telenor, Telia, and Ice.net.
South Korea
The East Asian country South Korea stands at 7th position with 40.44 Mbps. The countries ranking soars in terms of both 4G availability and 4G speed. The key providers of the 4G network include SK Telecom, KT Corporation, and LG U+.
Hungary
Hungary occupies the 6th position with 39.18 Mbps 4G speed in the world. It has the fifth fastest smartphone internet network across the globe. Telenor, Vodafone, and Telekom are the key telecommunication players in Hungary.
Belgium
With 36.13 Mbps, Belgium stands at 5th position. The country has 85% of 4G availability. It also has sixth fastest smartphone internet network in the world. The key service providers include Proximus, Orange, and Base.
Australia
Australia, the island continent stands at 4th position with 36.08 Mbps. Customers in Australia are serviced by Vodafone Hutchison, Optus, Telstra.
New Zealand
The island country, New Zealand occupies the 3rd position with 33.52 Mbps. The Pacific island has the eighth fastest smartphone internet network in the world. Vodafone is the biggest telecommunication provider in the country.
Bulgaria
Bulgaria is placed at the second position with 33.34 Mbps. This European country has the ninth fastest internet network for smartphones. Major teleservices providers include Mtel, Telenor, and Vivacom.(Mtel).
Denmark
The Nordic country occupies the first position with 33.09 Mbps with the highest 4G speed in the world.
TDC, Telia, Telenor are the three dominant telecom service providers in the country.
