Three of the nominations made by a group of minority shareholders earlier this month were accepted by Fortis Healthcare's board for the positions of directors, the company said in a stock exchange release today.

It will conduct an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on May 22 as sought by the minority shareholders.

The new additional independent directors will be

1. Suvalaxmi Chakraborty- co-founder of Espandere Advisors
2. Rajiv Rajagopal- Chairman of JM Financial Services Singapore
3. Indrajit Banerjee former president and CFO of Ranbaxy Laboratories

The minority shareholders of Fortis Healthcare that made these nominations are National Westminster Bank Plc, East Bridge Capital Master Fund Ltd, and East Bridge Capital Master Fund I Ltd.

The EGM will be held to consider the various resolutions proposed by these shareholders.
