Idea Cellular Reports Q4 Loss of Rs 962 Crore
Idea Cellular today reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 962.20 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2018. This is the sixth straight quarterly loss reported by the telecom firm, impacted by its competition Reliance Jio's competitive prices.
There was however a drop in net loss from Rs 1,285 crore in the December-ended quarter to Rs Rs 962.2 crore in the quarter under review.
Its EBITDA increased by 18 percent to Rs 1,447 crore and EBITDA margins rose from 18.8 percent to 23.6 percent. Idea Cellular's income jumped to Rs 250 crore in the fourth quarter from Rs 42 crore in the third quarter. Its average revenue per user (ARPU) was down by 8 percent to Rs 105 per month. Its revenue fell by 5.7 percent to Rs 6,137 crore for the third quarter while its net debt for the year 2017-18 stood at Rs 52,330 crore.
