Singapore Airlines to Launch World's Longest Non-Stop Flight
By the end of this year, Singapore Airlines plans to launch a 19-hour long non-stop flight between Singapore and New York, The Sun reported.
This flight will beat the current record of the 18-hour non-stop flight between Doha and Auckland by Qatar Airways.
The current Singapore to New York flight provided by the airlines makes a stop in Frankfurt or London. Singapore Airlines has reportedly ordered seven Airbus A350-900ULR (ultra long range) planes to facilitate the same. These planes are able to go the full 9,500 miles (15, 289 km) but will require carrying the additional weight of the extra fuel needed.
The airlines said that it will make the journey comfortable on board with special lighting and air management system to ease jet lag and regulate cabin temperature.
