Larsen and Toubro's hydrocarbon subsidiary, LTHE has secured two contracts in association with the UK-based TechnipFMC from Hindustan Urvarak and Rasayan Ltd (HURL).

 
L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Secures Rs 3,800 Crore Order

As per the company's regulatory filing, the EPCC contracts secured by the joint venture between LTHE and TechnipFMC is for establishing two fertilizer plants of 3,850 TPD urea and 2200 TPD ammonia at Sindri in Jharkhand and Barauni in Bihar.

 

HURL, incorporated in the year 20016, is a joint venture between NTPC, IOCL, CIL, Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Ltd (HFCL) and Fertilizer Corporation of India Ltd (FCIL).

As part of the order, L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering will have to set-up two 2,200 TPD ammonia plants. The facilities will be conceived based on Denmark-based Haldor Topsoe's ammonia technology and urea technology of Saipem, Italy.

Pursuant to the deal, Subramanian Sarma, MD & CEO, LTHE, said, "Bagging these two orders from HURL reinforces our integrated capabilities in executing critical plants for the fertilisers, refinery and petrochemical segments".

TechnipFMC is the UK-based company that provides subsea, offshore, onshore and surface technologies.
