Indian Railways in a bid to provide some relief to passenger woes concerning overcharging by vendors for different food items at railway stations and on trains has come up with a new app 'Menu on Rails'. Using the app, passengers will be able to cross-check the maximum retail price for the food article before placing their order.

The mobile app launched by Piyush Goyal lists all of the food items along with their prices that are on offer on different trains including Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Humsafar, Tejas and Gatimaan Express. Additionally, the app will also provide details on the pre-booked meals on offer in Duronto Express, Rajdhani Express and CC and EC class of Shatabdi Express. Through this, passengers of these premium trains will be able to know what they will be getting while travelling in these trains.

The MRP for different food articles available at the railway stations and on trains displayed on the app will be inclusive of all the taxes. Nonetheless, it is to be noted that the app does not features items or menu available at the different fast food outlets and food plazas at stations.
