Air Asia India, the budget carrier has announced a new direct flight route between Bengaluru and Amritsar. According to the airline's website, the new route will be available from 26 July and passengers can avail a 30 percent discount on this route on booking until July 22.

Air Asia is also currently offering discounts on other domestic routes till July 22 for the travel period between 17 July and 30 November 2018.

It is also offering discounted prices to selected destinations on departure from Bengaluru. Those traveling from Bengaluru can book flights to Chandigarh at Rs 4,101, Srinagar at Rs 8,603, New Delhi at Rs 3,099, Jaipur at Rs 3,019 and Bagdogra at Rs 8,644.

On international flights, fares to Kuala Lumpur from cities like Bhubaneshwar and Vishakapatnam are as low as Rs 3,999.

The rising crude oil prices and depreciation in the rupee in the last month caused an increase in operating expenses for airlines in India. The companies, however, have been offering discounts on ticket fares to lure customers in the lean business period of monsoon.

Just last week, Indigo airlines had put 12 lakh seats for grabs at rates as low as Rs 1,212. SpiceJet also had an offer on flight tickets for Rs 999.
