Maharashtrian Cities Top the Govt's Ease of Living Index; Check Complete List Here
The "ease of living index" released by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on Monday named Pune, Navi Mumbai and Greater Mumbai as the top three livable cities in the country. In a statement, the ministry said that the index was, "to help cities assess their liveability vis-à-vis global and national benchmarks and encourage cities to move towards an 'outcome-based' approach to urban planning and management."
It covers 111 cities based on the framework of four pillars; Institutional, Social, Economic and Physical which are further broken down into 15 categories and 78 indicators.
