In a limited period offer, IndiGo on Monday has put 10 lakh (one million) promotional seats on sale at all-inclusive fares starting Rs 999 for a one-way journey across its flight network. The budget carrier is also offering "SuperCash" of 20 percent (up to Rs 600) on booking the ticket through mobile wallet provider MobiKwik on its official website or app.

The four-day "festive sale" has begun on Monday and will end on 6 September for travel between 18 September 2018 and 30 March 2019. " This offer is made by InterGlobe Aviation Limited ("IndiGo"), to the customers booking IndiGo flights from 06:00 hours on September 3, 2018 up to 23:59 hours on September 6, 2018 ("Offer Period") for travel between 06:00 hours on September 18, 2018 and 23:59 hours on March 30, 2019 excluding blackout dates (15th Dec'18 - 15th Jan'19)," its official website states. Additionally, the bookings have to be made 15 days prior to the date of departure.

Note that the discount is not applicable on airport charges and Government taxes and the offer is valid only on non-stop flights across its domestic and international network.

Airlines sell inventory in advance to help generate working capital. AirAsia is also offering flight tickets at a discounted rate on domestic as well as international flights at present.

As for IndiGo, this is the second time in two months that the budget carrier, whose June quarter profitability nearly got wiped out over the period year ago, has put a million seats up for grabs at cheaper fares. In July, it had put on sale 1.2 million seats at heavily discounted starting fares of Rs 1,212 under a similar offer.
