Indian Railways To Start Unreserved Train Ticket Booking Via App
As per a leading business channel report, the behemoth Indian Railways is soon to start QR-based train ticket booking for unreserved class. This is being proposed as many a times train travellers due to heavy rush at the station fail to buy the unreserved class train ticket in time.
The new procedure expected to be rolled out soon via the mobile app will take less than one minute's time to book the unreserved train ticket.
Process to book unreserved train ticket via mobile app
At the railway station, the unreserved train ticket buyer will need to scan the QR code using the dedicated app. Post which, the application will inquire about the destination and after providing the required input; fare for the train travel will be disclosed to the passenger. The fare can then be paid via any of the payments app or through IRCTC's mobile wallet. And after the payment is made, user will get the booked ticket on the app which can be showed to the TTE during train travel.
The new facility to buy unreserved train ticket via mobile app using the QR-code based booking system shall be available for both express as well as mail trains.
Currently, Western Railway has organized a campaign to promote cashless train ticket booking via mobile app that will run until October 30 at 17 railway stations.
